High School Summer Institute
American Museum of Natural History
For 1 week, participants in the Summer Science Institute will learn about the astronomy and planetary sciences on display in the exhibit halls through interactive, hands-on activities and experiments.
- When: Monday, August 13 - Friday, August 17, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Cost: Free
- Application Required: Applications open June 1st through June 26th.
- Eligibility and Requirements: New York City high school students who will be entering 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade (or equivalent) in the 2018-2019 school year are eligible to apply. Participants must live in OR go to school or be homeschooled within the five boroughs of New York City.

BridgeUp: STEM program
American Museum of Natural History
This program is focused on the intersection of computer science and science. This portfolio of programs includes:
- tuition-free intensive 3-year Brown Scholars program for high school girls
- introductory middle school camps covering a range of computational topics, like climate change (full-tuition scholarships are available; email [email protected] for more information)
- the Helen Fellowship, a one-year post-baccalaureate fellowship for women
- an annual overnight hackathon in November for professional developers addressing computational challenges in a given scientific discipline
