We believe that strong literacy skills, reading, writing, speaking, and listening, are essential in developing responsible, self-motivated learners. We support students’ curiosity and critical thinking skills by providing diverse and relevant interactive opportunities and cross-curricular connections. One goal is to incorporate the pillars of the Moral Compass of Kindness which include responsibility, compassion, forgiveness, and integrity into our teaching and our students' lives. Differentiated instruction as well as complex and engaging texts which include increasingly rich vocabulary are utilized to increase student interest and enjoyment in reading and learning.
We offer clubs for students interested in Drama, Creative Writing, and Poetry Out Loud. Our main goal is to prepare students for the next level of study, whether it be the next grade or for college.
