NYSESLAT (New York State English as a New Language Assessment Test) 2026

Dear Parents or Guardians,
Each year, English language learners in kindergarten through grade 12 take part in the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT), as required by No Child Left Behind Act, Education Law.
This letter is to inform you that starting the week of April 6, 2026 we will initiate the administration of Speaking Part of the NYSESLAT test and into the week of May 22. The Writing/Reading/Listening Part will take place starting the week of May 4, 2026 and into the week of May 22.
Please make sure that your child is in attendance at this exam. This is a very important test because it will determine how your child will be programmed for next year. Click on the link below to learn more information about the NYSESLAT testing.
